Alyssa's loved animals since she was a toddler and would always watch Animal Planet with her dad. Her dad helped to guide her in learning more and more about animals and nature as she grew up. Throughout Alyssa's childhood, she had dogs, rabbits, chickens, and fish. Despite begging her dad for horses, pigs, goats, and more dogs, she was told to wait until she was a veterinarian. She began volunteering at a farm to fulfill her passion for animals until she was old enough to get a job. Shortly after joining Hawkins Animal Hospital and Wellness Center, Alyssa rescued a kitten who became her absolute best friend. Being a veterinary assistant has been the biggest stepping stone in her pursuit into the veterinary field.
